We’re now in part 2 of the Guide to Successful Online Business. Last time we talked about Squeeze Page. If you haven’t read the first part of the tutorial, I really suggest that you read it first before reading part 2 so that you will be able to follow through the tutorial until part 3
Part 2 of the tutorial is focused on how to integrate your Squeeze page with your Autoresponder. AWeber and Getresponse are great examples of an Autoresponder. I personally use AWeber because it is very easy to use, their technical support is very attentive to your needs, and if you’re just starting out they have a 30 day free trial.
So what does an Autoresponder do?
Autoresponder sends emails to your subscribers on a daily basis or depends on when you want your emails to be sent to them.
The reason why many email marketers are sending emails on a daily basis is because if you send emails days apart from the first email you sent, people tend to forget you.
Always remember that you are building trust and relationship with your subscribers that is why sending emails on a daily basis is very important!
By having an Autoresponder, half of the work is already done for you because it will take care of all the promoting for you. All you have to do is to create emails and put your affiliate link on those emails and it will be sent automatically.
You may be wondering “How do I create emails?”
Don’t worry! In this tutorial I will guide you on how to create EFFECTIVE emails that your subscribers will surely read and will almost certainly convert into sale.
I would suggest creating an account with AWeber because it’s what I personally use and have knowledge on.
Once you create your account on AWeber, the first thing you have to do is send an email to their technical support. Tell them that you need your confirmed opt-in to be turned OFF. The reason for this is because if you have your confirmed opt-in ON, it will greatly affect your subscription rate because emails will be sent to your subscribers and they have to confirm that they are subscribing to your list. That will surely hurt your business!
Once they sent an email to you, telling that they already fixed it, the next thing you have to do is to go to “List Option” and there you will see “List Settings”, click on that.
After you clicked on it, at the left side of your screen you will see your List Options. You need to click on the “Confirmed Opt-in”
After you clicked it, at the lower part of the page you will see “Required Opt-in” and there is two buttons there. Turn it OFF.
NOTE: These steps are very important so you should do this before proceeding to creating your emails!
Once you are done turning OFF your confirmed opt-in, you can now go and create your emails.
For creating emails, you need to go to Messages
Now, when you clicked on messages you will see that there is two effective ways on creating an email:
- Through “Legacy Follow Up Series”
- Through “Broadcast”
What is “Legacy Follow Up Series”?
Legacy Follow Up Series are emails which you will create to send to your subscribers on a daily basis.
But you must know that not all of your subscribers are receiving the same email at the same day. Some of your subscribers will receive email #3 while others already received email #4 because this depends on what date your subscribers subscribed to your list
In order to create a Legacy Follow up Series, you need to click on “Legacy Follow up Series”
After you clicked on it, you can see a “Create a Message” button at the right side of your screen. You must click on it.
After that, you will see options whether to create your email through “Drag & Drop Email Builder” or “Plain Text Message” or “HTML Editor”.
I suggest you pick “Drag & Drop Email Builder”
Once you are inside the “Drag & Drop Email Builder” you can now create your first email.
At the top of your email builder you can see a box where you must put the subject of your email.
At the middle part is where your message will be
And on the right side of your screen, you can see a “Personalize” button there. You can choose whether to include the name of your subscribers to any of your emails or not. This is optional.
Once it is done, you can now save it, then save & exit.
And you will see that your message is saved to draft.
You need to click on the “Send option button” and you will see whether to add it on Follow up Series or Schedule a Broadcast.
What is a “Legacy Follow up Series” must contain?
The single most important thing that your Legacy Follow up Series must have is a “Welcome message” that can be seen at the #1 of your email lists.
This is very important because this is your first interaction with your subscribers.
What your “Welcome message” must contain?
It all depends on what you want your subscribers to know about you.
whether you want to share your reason for starting affiliate marketing, putting some links of offers there, or linking your blog if you have any. There’s a ton of ways to do with your welcome message that you must provide value there immediately!
Now, the second option is to create emails through Broadcast
I like Broadcast because it allows me to send emails to all of my subscribers at once compare with Legacy Follow Up Series which is why this option converts better in terms of sale.
Now to create a Broadcast, you need to go to “Messages”
Then click on Broadcast
The process of creating an email through Broadcast and Legacy Follow up Series is very much the same. The only difference is on Broadcast, you get to choose on what date and time you will send your email to ALL of your subscribers.
Now, to schedule a Broadcast, after you create your email, you have the option to Schedule a Broadcast. You need to click on it.
After you clicked on it you can see “When should this message be sent?”
And you’ll get to choose on what desired date you want to send your email to your subscribers, then click “Apply”
Once everything is done, you can now click “Schedule Message” and it’s good to go!
